Education Project:
EDENDALE ISLAMIC SCHOOL
R 75 000 for restoration of abandoned and dilapidated school premises

Established in 2000 the school grew rapidly, resulting in it having to move to new premises. The Department of Education offered the school premises in the township of Edendale in Pietermaritzburg which had been vandalised to the point where the premises were no longer being used.

Today, with the assistance of Iqraa Trust, the school has been completely renovated and now provides much needed quality education to 135 disadvantaged learners of which the majority is black. They are also provided with uniforms and books. The school also provides training for adult women from the community.
