Education Project:
anjuman islamic primary school
R 60 000 towards the
funding of a computer centre
Ajuman
Islamic Primary School is situated in Leopold Street in Durban on a
property owned by the Anjuman Islam Trust.
The school is administrated by the Department of Education. The
roll in 2006 was 140 and has increased to 334 in 2009.
Iqraa Trust responded to an urgent need for
computers in Anjuman Islamic Primary School. The school did not have
any funds to purchase these computers as most of the learners
come from poor socio-economies and have great difficulty in paying
school fees.
Iqraa Trust donated a Computer Centre to Anjuman Islamic Primary
School which will allow for the school to implement Computer Studies as
part of their Curriculum. The Iqraa Trust Computer Centre will provide
internet access to all students and is also made available to parents
and the wider community to enable them to acquire computer skills, which
will help them to secure employment.
